He's only 17

Earlier this week I watched a videoclip of CBS Early Show. Apparently a 17-year-old boy named Miles wanted to ask a girl named Tina to the prom. He had a sign and was standing up in front of the crowd for all to see. The weatherman chatted with Miles a little bit and then announced that Tina was on the line. Cue Eric Clapton’s “Wonderful Tonight.” Oh how cheesy. Here was the poor lad trying to muster up the courage to do this on national TV and we break out the sap song. Miles asked TIna, she gave a half-hearted “yes” (well, that’s what it sounded like to the weatherman, so he made her repeat the answer, with feeling). The second time around she sounded a little more enthusiastic.

The weatherman asked Miles if he had any longterm plans with Tina. Miles answers with a “I’m just 17.”
