Blind Sided

I did a dumb thing driving this morning. On Main Street by Casey’s. A car ahead was stopped and waiting for the traffic to go so he or she could make a left. There was a car behind the first car, patiently waiting. I veered to the right and almost crashed into an oncoming car turning left. My kids asked whose fault that was and I said it was mine since you aren’t supposed to pass on the right. I said what would it have cost me to wait an extra minute? So at least I turned it into a “teachable moment.”

When I made that quick stop, my right arm automatically went out to protect my front passenger. She noted that Mom did a “Blind Side” because that’s what the foster kid did in the movie to his little foster brother when they were involved in a crash.
