Gores no more

From an AP story: “Al and Tipper Gore’s marriage lasted four decades, through a deployment to Vietnam, the near-death of a child and the heartache of losing the disputed 2000 presidential election. But over time, the former high school sweethearts began to grow apart and carve out separate lives, friends said.”

Adults just aren’t meant to live together very long it seems. Half of all marriages end in divorce these days, so serial marriages will be the thing. People who get married seven times such as Elizabeth Taylor or even 27 times like Erica Kane (a soap opera character) will be the norm.

Still, it’s sad for the kids, even adult kids, and the grandchildren who will have to visit their grandparents at separate homes.
