For those of you who are interested in seeing a documentary on Laura Ingalls Wilder and her writing, head to Washington Paviliion tomorrow. Dean Butler, who portrayed Almanzo on the long-running “Little House on the Prairie” television show is presenting “Little House on the Prairie: The Legacy of Laura Ingalls Wilder” at 11 a.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. in the Belbas Theater at the Pavilion. Tickets are $5 and available at the door.
I got to chat with Butler today about his upcoming visit to Walnut Grove in July as part of the WG Family Festival. He’s been to the area a few times, with the last time in November shooting footage for the documentary. His company, Legacy Documentaries, has also done a piece on the character he played, titled “Almanzo Wilder: Life Before Laura.” It’s available at the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum gift shop. As for the one on Laura, it’ll be a while, Butler said.
