| | 60 pianiJune 21, 2010 - Karin EltonWhat a fabulous idea. An artist has placed 60 pianos in various places in New York Monday as part of a public art project. Says the AP, “Amid the rush of Times Square, on a traffic triangle in the East Village and in a park with the Statue of Liberty in the background, players flocked to the 60 pianos.” The pianos got a range of reactions. One person interviewed had never touched a piano before, which is sad;another person was able to play Scott Joplin’s "The Entertainer.” Impromptu pianists would get applause from people milling about and thumbs up from passing taxi drivers.
