A Hint for Heloise
October 25, 2010 - Karin Elton
Dear Heloise: My lovely yellow carpet was bleached out so I added a little cat barf to the spot and voila! The color matched beautifully. From Dorene Obi Minneapolis
That’s what I told my sister she should write because she did just that and was proud of her ingenuity.
She had told me that when one of her FOUR cats threw up she was a little overzealous in cleaning the spot out of the carpet and she took out the color. So when her cat recently upchucked again, my sister put the results on the bleached-out spot in her living room.
“The throw up and the carpet color are similar in color,” she said. She thinks it worked. “At least it looks better than the bleached out color.”
I asked her if her cat had an eating disorder which compelled it to binge and purge. Maybe a touch of body dysmorphia? She replied that she didn't know if it is overeating or hairballs or sensitive stomach or possible bulimia.
So the moral is: If you cleaned a spot too heartily, put back a little of whatever it was that you were cleaning and it will be almost as good as new!
