Brett Favre ran off the field for — God willing — the last time Sunday, and kept running, and running, and running, and running, cameras following him all the way. What, was he late for a mixer? Did he have to go charge his cell phone? Favre, this is your swansong (although you didn’t even play), why not stick around and shake some hands, hug a few players? Maybe Favre had a good reason for getting off the field before the refs did, and it was kind of appropriate watching him run like that — probably the best he’s moved since that game-clinching run against the Redskins a few weeks ago — because his career is kaput. Hopefully he kept running and won't look back. Thankfully, the Joe Webb era has officially begun in Minnesota. The Lions game? Bad loss to a bad season, but at least it gives the Vikes a higher draft choice so they can nab the best offensive lineman in college football, whomever that might be. Good-bye for this year, Vikings, and good-bye for good, Brett Favre. You gave us many, many years of great football and capped it off with one, big, pathetic flop.
