$20 bucks = 5.2 gallons. Ouch

April 15, 2011 - Per Peterson
Just got back from the gas station. Put in 20 bucks, got a little more than 5 galls of gas out of it. Someone might as well of stuck a gun in my back and robbed me. That’s what it felt like. On the bright side, we should be relived we don’t live in Connecticut, Illinois, California, Hawaii or Alaska — they’re already paying more than $4 per gallon. It’s just about to hit $4 in New York and Washington. There, that’s the bright side. Now, back to the dark side: The last time gas was this expensive was in the summer of 2008, just before the economy went in the tank. Now, here we are a few years later supposedly climbing out of that financial pit, and it looks like gas prices are going to push us right back in. If President Obama ever wonders why this country can’t seem to recover from the recession, he need look no further than the nearest gas station.
