I listened to MPR during my lunch hour today. Midday host Gary Eichtin was interviewing Garrison Keillor at the state fair. Keillor was taking questions from the audience. One woman said she visits friends all over the world but couldn’t get them to come to Minnesota. “What should I tell them to make them come?” she asked. He said tell them they have to see the prairie. Then he mentioned Montevideo, Granite Falls, Minneota and one other area city — I forget which, maybe Canby. But I thought it was cool that he gave a shout-out to the hinterlands of Minnesota.
