| | Laugh til it hurtsJuly 19, 2012 - Karin EltonI watched a little bit of Jay Leno’s interview with comedian Dana Carvey recently. Carvey was funny when he was on Saturday Night Live in the late ‘80s-early ‘90s and it was no different when he was doing his bit on Leno. He talked about how he has always liked to go running but now he has pains and injuries from the sport. He said just getting up off the couch can be injurious to his body now that he is older. I see from his website danacarvey.net that he is two years older than me. I can, unfortunately, relate to what he said about mundane movements being potentially painful. A couple weeks ago I was in my car strapped into the seat belt and I reached across the dashboard to get something. Ow. My shoulder hurt from the “exertion” and now it hurts every time I need to use that arm to reach up which is every day. I might have compounded the “injury” by subsequently playing badminton with teenagers. Every time I tried for a high hit, I yelled in pain and the aforementioned teenagers would laugh. That is about all you can do with old-age injuries is laugh. Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | in: News, Blogs & Events Web |
