Mooning over my honey

My mother — who has been in her own dimension for a while now — recently asked my sister, “Where’s Karin Josephine? I suppose she’s on her honeymoon.”

I haven’t been called Karin Josephine in a long time. My name is Karin Jo, but my mom’s mom was Emma Josephine, so I was referred to by my elders as Karin Josephine from time to time.

But I suppose I am on my honeymoon — which could be thought of as a time where you love every single thing about another person. I think this honeymoon will last a lifetime though — the one I’m having with my new granddaughter. I love every little yawn and squeak.

My daughter asks me, “What are you laughing at?” when I chuckle at almost everything the baby does. Even when she coughs, it’s cute.
