| | Don't like your grade? By all means, sue!February 14, 2013 - Per PetersonI realize suing has become America’s past time, but this one takes the cake. Megan Thode, unhappy about a C-plus grade she got, is suing her professor and Lehigh University, claiming monetary damages and seeking a grade change. Thode said the grade prevented her from getting her desired degree and becoming a licensed therapist. Wow. Her attorney is arguing that the professor targeted Thode because she's a gay marriage advocate, apparently an outspoken one at that. The professor said Thode had outbursts in class, did not participate appropriately and ignored a warning letter. Thode’s no dummy. She’s an A student, so she should know better than to think she can pull this off. But a small part of me hopes she wins. Still, this sue-first mentality is getting tiring. Then again, if she does win, I have bone or two to pick with a couple of my old professors. Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | in: News, Blogs & Events Web |
