Nifty shifts

May 20, 2014 - Karin Elton
My daughter and her friend attended a graduation reception a couple weekends ago. They both wore short, straight-cut dresses known to people who were young in the 60s and 70s as “shifts.”

I didn’t know they were in style again.

I remember when my sister and I wore shifts. My favorite one was sewn by a friend of my mom’s, Sylvia Kallevig, when we lived in Willmar. She sewed us each a shift and then matching ones for our Barbies. So cute!
