Adjusting slowly

March 18, 2009 - Cindy Votruba
My body is slowly getting adjusted to sleeping all through the night for the first time in eight years. A couple of kids took over both of my paper routes this past Saturday, which was nice as I had to work page design desk the night before. I still ended up waking up around 8:30 Saturday morning. And these last few days, I’ve been getting 8 or so hours of sleep a night, and I'm still a bit tired during the day. Yeesh. Hope it doesn’t take me this long to get my mind and body into a regular routine. Plus, I have to work in some walking exercise.

I also caught my first cold of the season. I’ve been spoiled all winter in not having a runny nose, a cough or a sore throat. But last week, that changed with the change in temperature. Sigh. But it’s OK, I was past due. And the sore throat (my least favorite part of a cold) wasn’t that bad.

Fortunately spring is almost here — vernal equinox on the 20th and it is actually starting to look that way. Hopefully the snowstorms will stay away for several months.
