April 1, 2009 - Cindy Votruba
OK, I’ll admit that I didn’t really play the game Clue as a kid (maybe once with some cousins) and I haven’t seen the 1985 movie that starred Tim Curry, Madeline Kahn and Martin Mull. But I have been actively involved in helping out at rehearsal for the Marshall Area Stage Company’s dinner theater production of “Clue.” So much so, that lines from the script, such as “I hate fish,” “this is war, Peacock” and “I didn’t do it” keep running through my head at random times.

MASC’s “Clue” opens tomorrow night. The dinner theater includes a pasta bar being catered by DeVos Catering. And those who have had DeVos’ food know how good that is. The play is pretty much the same script as the movie, with the timing, the funny lines and of course, the characters. Picture the game coming to life with a very interesting storyline on “whodunit?”

Tickets for the play are $20 for the dinner theater tomorrow through Saturday and are available at Hy-Vee and MAFAC. Sunday’s matinee is a dessert theater for $10 and tickets are also available at Hy-Vee and MAFAC. Show times are 7 p.m. tomorrow-Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Oh, and the venue? The Market Street Mall.
