| | Tick seasonMay 13, 2009 - Cindy VotrubaI’ve lived in Marshall for more than a decade, and I’ll admit that until a couple of weeks ago, I’ve never explored the little wooded trail that is out past Justice Park. I went walking with Ross and he wanted to go along the Redwood River. We kept going down the gravel path and through the trees. I was like, “here I’ve been just doing a circle around Justice Park and coming back, and there’s more to see out here.” We came across a burned-out fire pit of sorts with a couple of pop cans and a broken fold-up camping chair. Probably the remains of a party or something. Ross said that it was probably too cold for ticks to be out. Was he surprised when he found one on his pillow the next day. We’ve now taken both ways from Justice Park. One walk took us all the way to Bruce Street and back to my place on North 5th. A couple of days ago, I went to the trail again, but I didn’t go through the woods. I’m just not ready for tick season. Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article.
