Black or White

One of my sisters lives in Excelsior near Lake Minnewashta which is where Tiger Woods recently rented a house during the PGA Championship at Hazeltine in Chaska.

A “neighbor guy” (she e-mailed) said the house was one of the $1-3 million houses on Lake Minnewashta and the house was rented for $12,000 a week.

When my sister, her son and his friends were driving around last weekend, they decided to drive the block away from their house to see if they could catch a glimpse of Woods.

She e-mailed “sure enough we all saw him in the garage, there were several cars and a few golf guys, he had a red shirt on, only light-skinned black man in the neighborhood.”

She said something like that to her son and he called her a racist. My girls say that to me also if I describe someone as “black.”

I think it’s great that they are aware of people being racist, but their mothers are not!

I’m sure if black people were going to point out a white person in a group of blacks, they would say, “he’s the white guy” and no one would call that racist.

Too bad Woods lost the championship, to an Asian guy.
