A couple of savvy businesswomen

August 20, 2009 - Karin Elton
I deleted some old e-mails today and I saw one that I had written to my niece about her younger cousins:

The girls like to play "business." They set up desks in the dining room and make signs for the wall. One time Vanessa had a newspaper which ran, not weekly, not daily, but hourly. You could buy advertisements, place announcements and give shout-outs to friends.

Cheyenne had Nicole's Beauty Shop. She had a grand opening with crackers and cheese and sign up for karaoke. It cost $5 in notebook paper money to get in. I told her you don't have to pay to go to a grand opening. She said people do for hers.

I made cream of wheat for breakfast. Vanessa ran over to me and said "You're charging $5 a bowl and I get half." Busy, I said OK. Later, I asked her why she gets half of the $5 a bowl since she didn't help make it or serve it. She said 'cause she thought of the price.
