I miss movie night. Back in college, groups of friends would rent a movie or pull out something from their own stash, invite people over to their dorm room or apartment, buy bags of chips, pizza and pop and have just a fun film get-together. It was at these movie nights I was introduced to “The Princess Bride,” Monty Python movies and “Star Wars” (at the time, the only “Star Wars” movie I had seen was “Return of the Jedi”).
Of course, there were the people who could recite each movie line for line. It would kind of get annoying, but then you could see why they liked the movie so much.
One of my theater friends has tried to make movie night a regular monthly occurrence. It sort of started earlier this year, there were a couple of movie nights and then it fizzled out. Life and other things got in the way. It’s not like those college days when you had time on your hands or needed a study break to watch “Search for the Holy Grail” for the 73rd time.
There was another movie night last night. Only four were there, which included the host. Sigh...we need to resurrect movie night.
