Human season starts today

My daughter woke up this morning disturbed by a nightmare that she had. She said there were reports on the radio and in the newspapers that “deer eat people. They spit out your bones.”

So in the dream she happened to be in a cornfield. (I’ll have to talk to her about how it’s probably not a good idea to hang around areas such as cornfields after hearing reports that deer eat people.)

Anyway, she was lingering near some bushes that divided the corn from the neighboring beans, she said, when a young deer with broken antlers came toward her.

Not to worry folks because she and the deer “became friendly because he could talk and dance. He could stand on a ball and dance,” she said.

With all we have to worry about these days with swine flu and the economy, now we have to add marauding, dancing deer to our list.
