| | Love of literacySeptember 16, 2009 - Cindy VotrubaIn the last few weeks, I recently discovered a new place to get books. A member of my book club suggested getting books from the Web site www.betterworldbooks.com. This place more or less rescues books and keeps them from landfills. You can also get new books from the site. The best part about this site — free shipping in the U.S. I decided to take advantage and get a couple of books, one used and one new. I ordered them on Sept. 8. I got the used book late last week and the new book today. Not bad, when I was expecting the new book to take more than two weeks to get here. I’m sure there’s other sites out there for book enthusiasts like me. One I’d like to get involved with is www.bookcrossing.com. Basically members tag a book and leave it behind at public places. The only thing is that I’m yet to have one of the Bookcrossing books be near me. The closest was Lake Benton, but I wasn’t too jazzed about the particular title. I had my brother look for one at the Cub he works at, but he couldn’t find it. Nothing like passing on a love of literacy. Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article.
