| | Early morning walk on Main StreetSeptember 28, 2009 - Karin EltonI had occasion to walk to work this morning (five or six blocks) because there is a certain axle out in my vehicle. You notice different stuff walking versus riding. Such as there was a brisk wind at 7:50 a.m. I should have worn a hat. I was halfway through a pedestrian crosswalk when a car drove in front of me. I thought the rule was if a pedestrian steps onto the crosswalk, cars should wait until the walker gets to the other side. The Redwood River is really low. The petunias at the downtown park need “deadheading” — pull off the dead buds and new ones will come. The air doesn’t smell so good during rush hour. The foundation veneer is chipping off on the building that houses the mall on Main Street that has Southwest School of Dance and Van’s Soundroom. I see that I noticed kind of negative things — must be early morning Monday grumpiness. I vow on my walk back home to only focus on pleasant things.
