Whenever I get a chance to go home and visit my parents, I’m usually hoping that an episode of “Dr. G: Medical Examiner” will be on the Discovery Health channel. She’s a cheerful medical examiner from Florida, and the episodes are usually about the cases that come in where the death is a little mysterious. For example, she had the case of a 34-year-old mother of two who just died in the middle of the night. The husband said he heard a sigh from her and smelled something toxic coming from her. It took four months for Dr. G to solve. In the end, the woman’s bowel had essentially died because of the birth control pills she was taking.
That case was on the first episode of the season 1 DVD I just got from Amazon this week. You don’t know how happy I was to see that it was available. Since I don’t have cable or DSS and Discovery Health doesn’t have episodes online, this will give me the Dr. G. fix I need. Hopefully other seasons will follow suit. Now I just have to wait until MTV releases “Daria” on DVD...
