Even though they won’t see their music until that morning, area beginning band students are excited and nervous to see how they can perform together.
Holy Redeemer School is playing host to a band festival for beginning players Saturday. The festival is in conjunction with the Minnesota Band Director’s Association.
The festival includes a performance at noon in the HRS auditorium, which is open to parents and the public.
Eighty beginning band students with less than one year of instruction are part of the festival. There are 14 schools participating in the event, which includes eight students from Holy Redeemer, six from Marshall Area Christian School, six from Yellow Medicine East, two from Samuel Lutheran School and two from Wabasso. Students are also coming from as far away as Austin and Mahtomedi.
