MARSHALL — In their first meeting of the season, Dawson-Boyd crushed Minneota 74-36. Last month, the Blackjacks needed overtime, but managed to pull out a four-point win in Minneota. But Thursday, with the season on the line in the Section 3A-North semifinals, it was the Vikings who were able to make the big play. After Dawson-Boyd’s Matt Anderson hit a jumper in the lane to tie the score with nine seconds left, Minneota’s Shane Hennen found Tony Noyes under the basket for the game-winning shot with 1.9 seconds remaining to give his team the 65-63 win at the R/A Facility. Not feeling his team had performed up to its potential in the first two meetings against Dawson-Boyd, Minneota senior Will Kurka said his squad wasn’t going to let another one slip away. “We were feeling pretty good about (Thursday’s game),” said Kurka, who had a game-high 28 points and 19 rebounds. “I’m not saying we knew we were going to win, but we felt really confident coming in her.
