Police shoot, wound suspect in Mpls.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Police say an armed robbery suspect was shot and wounded in a confrontation with officers in south Minneapolis.
The officers were working in a neighborhood where food delivery drivers have been robbed.
One plainclothes officer was posing as a food delivery driver when three juveniles approached him Tuesday night. Police say one of the suspects pointed a gun at the officer, and the officer pulled out his own gun and fired, striking the suspect twice in the torso.
The two other officers rushed to help, and one of them also fired his weapon.
The wounded 21-year-old suspect was taken to HCMC. His condition is unknown.
Police say two juvenile males, ages 15 and 13 were taken into custody.
The three officers are on paid administrative leave, which is standard procedure in such cases.
