Deer hunting meetings slated for southern Minnesota
Simplifying deer hunting regulations will be a primary focus of public input meetings to be held by the DNR in southern Minnesota.
Ken Varland, DNR southern wildlife manager, said the DNR has received suggestions from its 13-member citizen committee on ways to simplify what some consider to be overly complex deer hunting regulations.
Meetings in the region:
Thursday: 7-9 p.m. Southwest Minnesota State University, Charter Hall 201
April 8: 7-9 p.m. Minnesota West Community and Technical College in Worthington (Fine Arts Building Theater)
Firearms safety classes to begin Monday
Marshall Firearms Safety will be conducting classes at the Lyon County Law Enforcement Center in Marshall, beginning Monday.
A parent or guardian must attend the first class to complete registration and a brief orientation. They may leave after doing so, but are welcome to stay.
