Mustang Hoofprints
Welcome Mustang fans to another great year of SMSU athletics! Today, the SMSU fall athletic season begins with Mustang football battling the Northern State Wolves in a non-conference game at Mattke Field at the Regional Event Center. Pregame festivities will be held in the R/A Facility parking lot and kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. This will be the first time SMSU and NSU have played in a non-conference game and will also be the first time the two teams have met for a season opener. The game will feature the Mustangs’ new head coach, Cory Sauter, in his first season and a talented group of assistant coaches leading the Mustangs into battle this year. Bring the family out to the Regional Event Center and kick off the Labor Day weekend with SMSU Mustang football! The Mustang volleyball team is nationally ranked No. 15 and opens the 2010 campaign this weekend when the Mustangs travel to Golden, Colo., to compete in the Colorado School of Mines Classic.
