Well, a day later, there are now some "do not agrees," although, for the life of me, I cannot understand why. Must be people from the "Y". LOL . Christine, concerning writing to the Western Community Action, consider it done. I have a hard time believing this issue has not been addressed already!! A library is one of a communities most important resource !

trident_t150 Thank you all for the very kind words. I really appreciate it. Having a bus stop at the library is a VERY good goal for the community. It will enable MANY people the chance to enjoy the library and all it has to offer. It's more than just a library where we can check out books, movies, educate ourselves or gain access to the Internet! At the library we can take computer classes, resume classes, free movie night, special exhibits, story time, etc. As to how you can let Western Community Action know you're in support of the change you can contact Cathleen Amick, Transportation Director, 1400 S. Saratoga St., Marshall, MN 56258 with a letter or email her at cathleen.amick@wcainc****. You can also ask the Red Route driver for one of their surveys. Thanks again, Christine Bean

Well, this has got to be the first article I've ever seen where everyone is agreeing with everyone else! Ms. Bean, you are doing your community a service bringing this to our attention! Where can we sign the petition?

It is a very good idea to add a stop at the library. If it is too difficult or costly to add an additional stop, perhaps eliminating the YMCA stop and making the library a stop would be a good compromise. The short walk to the YMCA from the library would compliment the intent of most people going to the YMCA.

The transit company has been contemplating this addition for some time. As Ms. Amick said it takes time to to get things right. The next time that you ride the bus ask your driver for one of the three question surveys that pertain to adding this stop. Let your feelings be known.

The library is an important community resource for many people who may also depend on public transportation. In addition to lending books and other media the library has computers and free internet access, which many people use to apply for jobs, file for unemployment, file taxes, do research for work and school, etc. The library also offers computer skill classes. Having bus service to the library is far more important than having bus service to the Y.
