It's a 3+ hour drive daily for radiation for those of us who have had loved ones afflicted by this terrible disease. I hope we can all step up to donate.

I won't comment on the merits, or lack, thereof for the sports center, but in my opinion, using it as an excuse for not donating to the cancer center is a poor one. People can try to rationalize being cheap to true charity. However, you likely will have a loved one or yourself diagnosed with cancer at some point if you live in our area. Everyone should be able to do something, even if small.

Maybe something not so fancy would suffice. My mom passed away from cancer a few years ago. The last thing on her mind was how fancy the building was. Sometimes less is better...
