If you are a law abiding citizen, you won't have much, if any, trouble at all with the police. If, as you say, there is no reason to search you or your car, chances are you won't be searched in the first place. If you are, what's the problem? Grow up.

Everybody should KNOW YOUR RIGHTS when dealing with police. Never consent to a search, it's your right to refuse, especially if there is no reason to search you or your vehicle. Know your rights well! If the police know that you know your rights and also know what police can or can't do when dealing with them, they will not mess with you for very long and you will be on your way. You have the right to video tape police and you do not have to turn the video recorder off. The video camera is our biggest ally when dealing with police. Remind them of the oath they swore to. We're lucky to have very good police in Lyon county that haven't been federalized or militarized yet, unlike the big cities, they are a nightmare.

I sure would like to know how you prevent a law breaker, illegal, or a druggie from having a gun. The results of "Fast and Furious" show how effective the gov experts are. If you want to own a rifle you have to fill out a questioneer stating you are , not wanted for a illegal activity, are not a nut case, are not a felon, are not a terrorist, then sign it. If you want to buy a pistol you need a permit to buy from your local sheriff office, If you want a permit to carry you also need a permit from the sheriff office. These permits are given out after you take a training class and your history investigated. Unfortunately we don't have a severe penalty for lying anymore.

Not sure if I follow Igor. I have to say, gun control is necessary. Owning a gun should not be a god given right (atheists, do you hear me?). Owning a gun should be earned, even more so that a driver's licence. Anyone who refutes that does not have contact with those who want a gun for non-hunting purposes

All of this danger to police officers would not happen if we had more guns than the 50% of all guns our 5% of the world's population have. Billy the Kid would be so proud.
