I heard the team quit, & was somewhat shocked at the teams' inability to function on special teams. This has been the norm for the last several years. I don't think coach Bahlman puts enough focus on special teams & that has cost the team in the playoffs.

Strange how the girls teams are able to compete and have success without all the talk about switching conferences. $uck it up boys, how bad do you want it?

Its clear after the last game of the 2012 season, and the first game of this season that MHS cannot go long into post-season play unless it changes its philosophy of making players play both ways. Though always talented, MHS football relies too much on too few. Its always the same names getting the call, not enough trust in the non-stars, and too many players play both ways... then end up tired by the end of the game. After this game every team we play will be playing heavy against the run, or looking for the short screen, or slant to Drew because they know we can't go deep. The better than average kids will never get a chance to become a great team if they only play a few downs toward the end.

Their poor performance is probably linked to the poor results of the MCA testing.

Coach puts enough focus on special teams but he uses special teams to get playing time for some of the kids. To play with bigger schools he may have to play his best a bit more not less.

For years other good players have been overlooked so the so called stars could rack up yards and points to hopefully play college. Players coming up the ranks have seen this and henceforth it affects the team. Use them all Coach! This year will be different, they will be lucky to get conference.
