what happens with small cracks? they become bigger cracks. council members, ask yourself a question. if you lived on this street, would you accept these cracked pipes when you pay your assessment? do it right the first time...make the contractor do it over on his dime!

You are spot on, Pirate. It appears that no evidence was presented showing the pipes will last the full 30 year lifespan. When the pipes fail prematurely guess who is gonna get stuck with another $5500 assessment on their property taxes... The homeowners along the 600 block of West Lyon street and North 7th Street. City council should not sell out because they are too lazy to address the problem.

Why would there be any consideration of payment? Is there a "close enough" clause in the bid spec? If pipes have shown defects in months and it isn't known why they failed how can you predict a thirty year life? Protect the tax payer and pay when completed without defect.
