Impossible? How about diverting some of the ag subsidy pork to dealing with it? The government isn't shy about telling other industries to clean up after themselves.

Oh, poor Mr. Albin, can't stand the thought of having to be a responsible steward of the land. Wha wha wha. "please let me chemicalize it, poop on it and wreck it because I have my freedoms to serve corn syrup to the world's obese, and retire in my mcmansion too, after the soil and water are dead and poisoned."
