Congratulations to all the area athletes! Let's keep this in perspective-- it's truly only a game. Have a good day!

Congrats to the winners, but in the grand scheme of things, the award doesn't mean much in life. It doesn't build character, it doesn't open college doors. It is akin to endorsing a political candidate. As adults, we can teach our kids that life isn't fair and that sometimes others get accolades that we may have deserved. Posting comments comparing the abilities & accomplishments of two adolescents against one another only helps perpetuate negatives among our youth.

I don't know what the criteria was to pick a winner, but those few of us who truly know basketball in the area are smart enough to take this particular award with a grain of salt no matter who is chosen. It would have been better off just sticking with the teams they selected and left it at that.

I couldn't agree more with you. Kenzie deserved this just as much as Taylor did. If you're going to make one of the best volleyball players in Class AAA share her award with someone else, wouldn't it be fair to let two equal players share the award in basketball? Not saying that Taylor isn't a great player, but her and Kenzie have the same talent level. So what if Taylor scored 800+ points? Let's see how many points she scores against teams like Feegus Falls and Park Center.

Beekman had to share the volleyball award with Reiss even though she was a far superior player. Now Reiss get the basketball award all alone when they are equal? Please just change your name to the Minneota Dependent and get it over with.
