SLAYTON — Services for Douglas D. “Squeak” Prahm, 80, of Slayton will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church in Slayton. Burial is at Hillside Cemetery in Lake Wilson. Military honors accord by the Slayton American Legion and Slayton VFW Post. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. today at Totzke Funeral Home in Slayton with a prayer service at 7 p.m. and also one hour prior to the services at the church on Tuesday. He was born Jan. 2, 1928, in Lake Wilson to Walter and Roberta Hein Prahm.
On April 3, 1946, he enlisted in the United States Army, and received his honorable discharge on Oct. 3, 1947.
Survivors include his wife, Maxine Prahm of Slayton; seven children, Patricia Lowe of Mankato, Larry Prahm of Minneapolis, Roger Prahm of Slayton, Michael Prahm of Wichita, Kan., Jill Kafha of Granite Falls, Susan Zenk of Slayton, and William Prahm of Slayton,; 20 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; his mother, Roberta Beach of Slayton; two sisters Lila Stone of Marshfield, Wis., and Cindy Kleve of Slayton.
