UNOFFICIAL MINUTES - SUBJECT TO CORRECTIONS

LYON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS LYON COUNTY GOVERNMENT CENTER, MARSHALL, MN

October 21, 2008

9:00 AM- Meeting called to order by Chairman Goodenow. Members present: Ritter, Fenske, Goodenow, Nelson, Stensrud, County Administrator Stomberg, and Auditor/Treasurer Van Overbeke and Attorney Maes.

Ritter moved, seconded by Stensrud to approve the agenda. All voted in favor.

Per Diems Expenses

Fenske $150 -----

Nelson $100 $92.44

Ritter $100 -----

Consent Agenda:

1.Approve Minutes from September 30, 2008

2.Approve Minutes from October 7, 2008

3.Approve Commissioner Warrants 113888 -114006 in the amount of $173,925.14 dated 10/22/08.

4. Approve Auditor Warrants 113814 - 113832 in the amount of $36,265.14 dated 10/9/08 and 113845 - 113872 in the amount of $986,628.39 dated 10/16/08 and 113873 - 113887 in the amount of $922,120.90 dated 10/17/08.

Fenske moved, seconded by Nelson to approve the consent agenda. All voted in favor.

Stensrud moved, seconded by Ritter to approve and authorize the Chair to sign resolution. Goodenow - I think we are very fortunate to have Champine. All voted in favor.

Fenske moved, seconded by Nelson to hire Tim Paradis as a mechanic with a starting date of November 3, 2008 and a starting salary of $17.50 per hour. Ritter - Just curious, this is in the mid range was it because of the experience? Kanwar - Yes. All voted in favor.

Fenske moved, seconded by Stensrud for a temporary increase of $1.25 per hour for the transition team jail staff employees that are working out of class. All voted in favor. Ritter moved, seconded by Nelson for the effective date of the temporary increase for the transition team jail staff employees to be October 20, 2008. All voted in favor.

Fenske moved, seconded by Ritter to go into closed session to discuss labor negotiations. All voted in favor.

Ritter moved, seconded by Nelson to come out of closed session. All voted in favor.

Ritter moved, seconded by Nelson to adjourn until November 4, 2008. All voted in favor.
