Hoofprints - Thursday, December 18, 2008

December 18, 2008
By Chris Hmielewski

I am happy to announce the PE Building and locker rooms opened last Friday evening. The teams began moving all their equipment, uniforms, apparel and miscellaneous gear back into the equipment room Monday of this week. It is good to be back up and operating with all our facilities available to us. We still have some flooring to be installed in a number of the individual locker rooms. The washers and dryers on the men's equipment side will be in the second week of January. By the time students begin coming back from winter break, we should have the remaining projects completed for the spring semester.

Gold Rush Raffle Tickets Now Available

The 6th Annual Gold Rush Raffle will be held on Friday, Feb. 20. Tickets are just $50.00 each for your chance to win the grand prize of $5,000. If you are interested in purchasing a ticket call the athletic department at 507-537-7204.

If you have not been to the Gold Rush Raffle, you should buy a raffle ticket and join us for a night of fun, friendship and laughter. Every year the raffle gets great reviews from the people who attend. It is a mid-winter social event that you will not want to miss with cash prizes, give-aways, games, and silent and live raffle items. The Gold Rush is sponsored by the Mustang Booster Club and has sold out all six years.

Good luck to all of our Mustangs teams competing this week!

Go Mustangs!

Last week, no one provided the correct answer to last week's Mustang Hoofprint's Trivia Question: Head Mustang Baseball Coach, Paul Blanchard, originally went to what University out of high school (before transferring to the University of Minnesota) and what sport did he participate in at that college? Coach Blanchard left high school to play baseball at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska.

Thank you to all who submitted answers to last week's trivia question.

HOOFPRINTS TRIVIA QUESTION:

After graduating from Valley City State University (ND), Head Mustang Men's Basketball Coach, Greg Stemen, began his coaching career in 1990 coaching at what school? And can you name the sport he coached?

The first person to e-mail me at MustangHoofPrints@SouthwestMSU.edu with the correct answer to this question will receive a SMSU mustangs.com T-shirt. Please include your first and last name and phone number with the correct answer. The winner will be announced on The Saturday Morning Mustang Show between 9-10 a.m. on 1400AM each week.
