Post-game social this Friday night at Shay's
The Mustang Booster Club will host a post-game social on Friday at Shay's located in the Best Western Marshall Inn. The social will be held after the basketball games versus Winona State. The social is open to all booster club members, basketball parents and families.
Mustang Round-Up in St. Cloud on Jan. 16
Join the SMSU Alumni Association and the Mustang Booster Club for a Mustang Round-Up before the SMSU vs. St. Cloud State basketball games on Friday, Jan. 16. The social will be held at Buffalo Wild Wings (3701 West Division St.) from 5 7 pm. Meet fellow Southwest alumni and friends, enjoy some free food and get ready to cheer on the Mustangs. SMSU Athletics Hall of Honor Banquet Tickets on Sale
Tickets for the ninth induction into the SMSU Athletics Hall of Honor scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 24 are now on sale to the general public by calling the SMSU athletics office. The luncheon ceremony will begin at 1 pm and will be held on the second floor of the SMSU Conference Center. Tickets for the lunch and ceremony are $15 per person and must be reserved by Jan. 20. To reserve a ticket for the banquet please call the SMSU athletics office at 507-537-7271.
This year's induction class includes former football player Bruce Saugstad; former baseball player Chris Pack; former volleyball player Paige Karno; former tennis player Carolina Gomez; former wrestling/baseball athlete Link Steffen; and community members and long-time supporters of SMSU athletics, Sheldon and Marge Haaland. The SMSU Athletics Hall of Honor was established in 1992 and inducts new members every two years.
Pancake Breakfast for Scholarships at Applebee's Jan. 24
An all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast supporting Regional Scholarships at Southwest Minnesota State University will be held from 7:30-10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24 at Applebee's in Marshall.
The Saturday morning Mustang radio show will be broadcast live from there from 9-10 a.m. on KMHL, 1400 AM. It will feature sports director Aaron Ziemer, along with SMSU Director of Athletics Chris Hmielewski, Athletics Communications Director Kelly Loft and Mustang coaches.
Tickets for the breakfast are $6 for adults and $4 for those 12-and-under. Money raised will go toward Regional Scholarships at SMSU. Regional Scholarships are awarded through the SMSU Foundation to entering freshmen from the region based on academic and leadership performance.
The event will kick off Hawaiian Night activities on Jan. 24. The Hall of Honor induction luncheon will be held at 1:00 pm in the Conference Center ballroom. The Mustang women's and men's basketball teams host Wayne State University at 6:00 and 8:00 pm, respectively. For more information, call 507-537-6266.
Gold Rush Raffle Tickets Now Available

If you have not been to the Gold Rush Raffle, you should buy a raffle ticket and join us for a night of fun, friendship and laughter. Every year the raffle gets great reviews from the people who attend. It is a mid-winter social event that you will not want to miss with cash prizes, give-aways, games, and silent and live raffle items.
