It is another busy weekend for Mustang Athletics. The Mustang Softball team and other NSIC schools travel to Colorado Springs, CO to compete in a crossover tournament with the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Conference schools. It is the first competition of the spring season for Mustang Softball where they will play six games over three days.

Mustang Wrestling is home Friday when they play host to Upper Iowa University in the PE Gym at 7 p.m. The Mustangs enter the competition with a 3-6 record overall and 2-4 in the NSIC.

The men's and women's Mustang basketball teams travel to MSU Mankato on Saturday to battle the Mavericks with the women's game starting at 6 p.m and the men's game at 8 p.m. The SMSU Alumni Association and Mustang Booster Club are sponsoring a fan bus.

The bus will leave Founders Hall at 3:30 p.m. and arrive in Mankato in time for the women's game at 6 p.m. The men's game will follow at 8 p.m. Cost to ride is $15 and includes complimentary food and beverages on the bus. All Mustang fans are welcome.

The SMSU women will be looking for some revenge on MSU as the Mavericks knocked off the Mustangs 74-63 back on Dec. 6

The men's game will feature two of the NSIC's top teams as the Mustangs enter this weekend in first place in the conference, while the Mavericks are in a tie for second. To reserve your spot, contact the Alum

The SMSU Wheelchair Basketball team is at the University of Missouri this weekend and will play four games against the Universities of Alabama, Missouri, Arizona and Texas-Arlington. The Mustangs are currently ranked 6th in the nation.

Finally, tomorrow is the Gold Rush Raffle beginning at 7 p.m with a social hour with the raffle drawing starting at 8 p.m located in the SMSU Conference Center.

Gold Rush Raffle Tickets Now Available

The 6th Annual Gold Rush Raffle will be held Froday. This is your last chance to buy a $50 ticket for a chance to win the grand prize of $5,000. If you are interested in purchasing a ticket call the athletic department at 507-537-7985.

Every year the raffle gets great reviews from the people who attend. It is a mid-winter social event that you will not want to miss with cash prizes, give-aways, games and live raffle items. The Gold Rush is sponsored by the Mustang Booster Club and has sold out all five years.

Go Mustangs!

Congratulations to the crew at Mike's Caf who called in bright and early with the correct answer to last week's Mustang Hoofprints Trivia Question: Who won the $5,000 cash prize at last year's Gold Rush Raffle? The correct answer was Liz McLaughlin won last year's grand prize at the Gold Rush Raffle.

Thank you to all who submitted answers to last week's trivia question.
