Wesley United Methodist Church
This Fall our youth from Wesley United Methodist Church put their faith into action. They advertised a "Mission: Possible!" ministry to the people at Wesley UM Church. They offered their help to complete a home project or some other work that needed to be done.
People from the church contacted those organizing the ministry to schedule a time for youth from the church to come and complete yard work, house cleaning, running errands, or whatever they needed done. Adult church members also partnered with the youth to get the work completed.
Getting schedules to correspond in order to complete the projects has been difficult but the projects that were done have had wonderful results. Those doing the work have been rewarded by knowing that what they have done has made a real difference to people's lives. Those receiving the work have been thankful that someone cared. They have also greatly enjoyed the interaction with the youth.
Going far away on mission trips to help people in another culture are important experiences but it is important not to forget about those we can help who live next to us. Giving of our time and energy should always be a "Mission: Possible!"
