Avera Marshall Announces December Spirit of Excellence Award Winner
Sue Steinberg, recreational therapist and behavioral health technician at Avera Marshall's Behavioral Health Center, has been chosen to receive the "Spirit of Excellence" Award for December 2009 from Avera Marshall. Each month the award is given to an employee who demonstrates the medical center's values of compassion, hospitality and stewardship. Steinberg has worked at Avera Marshall since May 2007.
SW/WC Service Cooperative Staff present at National Conference
Josh Sumption and Deb Moorse recently presented at the annual Association of Educational Service Agencies Conference (AESA) in Austin, Texas, Dec. 2-5. Sumption is the manager of Information Technology at the SW/WC Service Cooperative (he is housed in Marshall), and Moorse is a speech language pathologist who provides speech language services to students via teletherapy (she is housed in Benson). Their presentation focused on speech language telepractice, a new program at the SW/WC Service Cooperative, started to meet the demands of a shortage of speech language pathologists in Minnesota.
Baune completes course
Steve Baune of North Star Mutual Insurance, Cottonwood, recently completed the requirements leading to the completion of the Associate in Insurance Technology (AIT) program, which is an educational program that covers various aspects of Information Technology within the insurance industry.
Baune began working for North Star in November of 2005 and is a programmer for the Information Technology Department.
