Tim Drake to speak Monday at Holy Redeemer

Tim Drake, an award-winning journalist and author, will speak at 6:30 p.m. Monday in Carlin Hall. The event is sponsored by the Council of Catholic Women.

Drake serves as senior writer with the National Catholic Register and Faith and Family magazine. Drake has been a guest on both television and radio. He has appeared on FOX News, Vatican Radio, and EWTN. He is a frequent guest on Sirius XM Satellite Radio's The Catholic Channel, and hosts a weekly radio program, "Voice from the Cloud," on Relevant Radio affiliate KYES 1180 AM.

All area women, men and youth are invited. Mass will be at 5:30 p.m., followed by a light dinner. At 6:30 p.m. Drake will speak on St. Paul's Conversion and also his own conversion to Catholicism. The quarterly Holy Redeemer Council of Catholic Women general meeting will take place following Drake's presentation.

KC pancake breakfast Sunday at Carlin Hall

The Knights of Columbus 1621 pancake breakfast is from 8 a.m.-noon Sunday at Carlin Hall Holy Redeemer Church in Marshall. Pancakes, eggs and sausage will be served. The cost for adults is $6 and for children 12 and younger, $3. The breakfast is sponsored by Holy Redeemer Church.

'What is the ELCA doing now and what does it mean for you?' at Clarkfield Lutheran

Jim Olsen, media and marketing coordinator for Word Alone will address major changes in the church and answering questions about the future of the ELCA and how this affects parishioners at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28 at the Clarkfield Lutheran Church.
