Vikings softball struggles in doubleheader with KMS

The Minneota/Canby softball team lost both games of its doubleheader Tuesday at Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg.

Megan McNeil and Amber Grengs were the only Vikings to manage hits in the first game, as M/C was shutout 2-0.

Heidi Schroepfer took the loss for the Vikings, pitching a complete game. She only gave up two hits, but surrendered six walks to go along with her three strikeouts.

M/C found a little more offense in Game 2, but also gave up more runs in its 13-3 loss in six innings.

Jamie Lundberg went 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI and Grengs went 1-2 with an RBI to lead the Vikings' offense.

Grengs started for the Vikings, pitching four innings. She gave up five runs on six hits and three walks and took the loss.
