UND recognizes Louella Lofranco for outstanding dissertation
Louella Lofranco received the 2010 distinguished dissertation award from the University of North Dakota's Graduate School.
Lofranco's dissertation was on communication and public discourse: "The Meaning of Development for Filipinos by Filipinos in Diaspora: Rhetorical Vision in Participatory Communication."
Selection for the outstanding dissertation award was completed by the dean and associate dean of the Graduate School, the Graduate Committee, and members of the UND Graduate Faculty.
Lofranco is an instructor at Southwest Minnesota State University.
Haag receives scholarship
Southwest Minnesota State University announces that Ruth Haag, the daughter of Edward and Linda Haag of Marshall, has been selected to receive a Powell Family Scholarship for the 2010-2011 academic year.
Recipients of these scholarships are recognized for their academic accomplishments and outstanding leadership abilities.
Her planned major fields of study are accounting and business finance.
