Faith in action for July 2

Open Door Assembly

Open Door Assembly loves to support missionaries. We are a church that is all about helping and coming along side missionaries that are going to change the word for eternity. This last week we had a missionary that we support come and help us get a better look at what he and his wife are going to do in Russia.

Steve and Amanda Hinson are about to fly to Russia. They will learn the language and partner with orphanages and the local Pentecostal church over there. They have a passion to see the youth of Russia reach for the kingdom of God. Most of the children that live in orphanages in Russia get released to live on the streets at age 16 and by the time that they reach age 24, 90 percent of those children have died. Most of them fall into prostitution or become addicted to some sort of drug.

The Hinsons have been given the challenge to go out and reach these children that came from a home that doesn't have a mom or a dad and to bring them in and show them the love that they deserve. They plan on starting one of the first youth movements in the Russian church. They know that if they can reach the little and the lowly they will be doing their job effectively. We believe that God has a bigger purpose for these kids' lives and know that through Steve and Amanda's ministry the percentage of children dying will decrease.

We are so excited to hear what God does through this couple and to hear the stories of what God is doing through their ministry. We also know that when we come alongside of a missionary couple we feel like we are a part of their ministry right here in Marshall. Please pray with us for Steve and Amanda as they go to Russia that God will bless their ministry and also protect them.

Exciting things are happening at Open Door Assembly. Come check us out. God bless.
