Demuth speaks at Iowa Lakes commencement
Iowa Lakes Community College had its spring commencement ceremony May 14 on the Estherville campus.
Two students served as the featured speakers for the evening including Rosie Demuth of Vesta, who received an associate in applied science degree in agribusiness technology. She graduated summa cum laude, which is between a 3.75 and 4.00 grade point average.
Area students earn degree from St. Cloud
St. Cloud State University conducted spring 2010 commencement ceremonies May 8 at the National Hockey Center for about 1,300 undergraduates and graduates.

Hoff on dean's list at Art Institutes
Joshua Hoff, a Cottonwood resident, has been placed on the dean's list for work in the media arts and animation, a bachelor of science degree program, during the 2010 spring quarter at The Art Institutes International Minnesota, a creative design and culinary arts college located in downtown Minneapolis.
Students appearing on the honors lists for The Art Institutes International Minnesota must be enrolled and complete 12 credits or more and meet the following corresponding designation: 4.0 GPA - president's list; 3.7 - 3.9 GPA - dean's list; 3.5 - 3.6 GPA - honor's list.
West receives degree
Brian West of Marshall received his bachelor's of science degree in law enforcement from Metropolitan State University May 6 in the Minneapolis Convention Center auditorium.
Marshall students on Winona State dean's list
Winona State University has released the dean's list for spring 2010. To be named to the dean's list, a student must be an undergraduate enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours for a grade) and achieve a minimum grade point average of 3.5.

Area residents graduate from University of Minnesota, Morris
Bachelor of arts degrees were awarded to more than 200 seniors during the 47th Commencement ceremony at the University of Minnesota, Morris.
Paul Carlson, Tracy, earned a bachelor of arts degree in elementary education.
Jonna Maas, Walnut Grove, earned a bachelor of arts degree in biology with high distinctions.
Rachel Plaetz, Lucan, earned a bachelor of arts degree in chemistry.
