Marshall Dairy Queen to participate in fund-raiser

The Dairy Queen at 1206 E. College Drive in Marshall will participate in the fifth annual Miracle Treat Day Thursday, a day-long fund-raiser benefiting Gillette, Minnesota's Children's Miracle Network affiliated hospital.

On Miracle Treat Day, participating Dairy Queens throughout North America - including locations in Lyon County - serve up a variety of Blizzard treats. Stores donate $1 or more per Blizzard sold to Children's Miracle Network, a national organization committed to raising awareness and funds for children's hospitals. All funds raised by Dairy Queens in Minnesota and western Wisconsin benefit Gillette. Last year, Gillette provided care to more than 22,000 children, including 62 from Lyon County.

Dairy Queens throughout Minnesota and western Wisconsin raised more than $234,000 for Gillette last year, with proceeds staying in local communities. The Dairy Queen system is one of the top 10 contributors to Children's Miracle Network raising more than $81 million since 1984.
