Lunch, auction is Sunday in Balaton

Balaton United Methodist Church will have a barbecue/hot dog lunch and auction Sunday at the Balaton Community Center. Lunch is at 11 a.m. until gone. A free-will offering will be accepted. The auction begins at 12:30 p.m. with Duane Mulder and Jim Von Holtum as auctioneers. Everyone welcome.

St. Edward's Fall Festival is Sunday

St. Edward's Fall Festival begins at 11 a.m. Sunday at St. Edward's in Minneota. Dinner includes roast beef, mashed potatoes, corn, cucumbers, tomatoes, coleslaw, desserts and a beverage. Price of the meal is as follows: Adults (13 and older) - $8; Children (6-12) - $4; Children (5 and younger) are free.

The carnival will begin at 11 a.m. with lots of games. A lunch will be served at 3 p.m.

Harvest festival is Sept. 24, Sept. 26 at Holy Redeemer, fairgrounds

Holy Redeemer Church will have a harvest festival Sept. 24 and 26. A teen karaoke and dance will be from 7-11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, at the Holy Redeemer School gym. Polka mass will be at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 26, at Holy Redeemer Church featuring Daine's Dutchmen. All other activities are at the Lyon County Fairgrounds from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. A grilled pork chop dinner with all of the trimmings will be served from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Adults are $8 and children young than 8 are $4. Take outs will be available. Advance dinner tickets are available at Hy-Vee and County Fair.

Quinn Horvath and family and Daine's Dutchmen will provide entertainment. Activities include bingo, country store, concessions and free photos with the "Pope." A raffle drawing is at 2:30 p.m.

Parish festival is Sunday in Green Valley

The Church of St. Clotilde will have a parish festival Sunday. Mass is at 10:30 a.m. A pork loin dinner with desserts and pies will be served from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. The cost for adults is $8, ages 6-12 are $4 and ages 2-5 are $2. Take out meals are available by calling 532-2841. Activities include fish pond, country store, cake walk, train rides and whopper hopper and will take place from 11:30 a.m.-1:15 p.m. A raffle drawing is at 1:15 p.m.

Tom Stamman to minister at Fire on the Prairie

Tom Stamman of Impact Ministries International will be the guest minister Friday, Sept. 24,at Fire on the Prairie in Clarkfield. He has ministered in more than 1,000 churches since 1986. Personal prophetic prayer will be offered, beginning at approximately 6:30 p.m. Service begins at 7 p.m. with praise and worship led by Fire on the Prairie's Nate Cole. The meeting will be at the Clarkfield City Hall Meeting Room, 904 10th Ave., Clarkfield. A free will offering will be received. No child care is provided. Baked potato supper is Wednesday at Albright

Albright United Methodist Church will have its 14th annual baked potato supper from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the church at 301 N. High Street in Marshall. A large baked potato with sour cream, butter and a large assortment of toppings will be available along with a beverage and dessert. Suggested donation is $6.
