Coffee break, bake sale Saturday in Balaton
United Methodist Women in Balaton are sponsoring a coffee break and bake sale from 8-11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, at the Community Center in Balaton.
Other activities will take place throughout the day.
Fall rally Saturday in Holland
LWML-The Pipestone Zone of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League will have its fall rally Saturday at St. James Lutheran Church in Holland. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., and the rally begins at 9 a.m. and ends with the noon meal. The speaker will be David Waterman, principal of the new Sioux Falls Lutheran High School. His topic will be, "Helping Teenagers Approach the Challenges of Life With a Christian World View." The "Gifts from the Heart" project will be donations for the food shelf. The Pipestone Zone LWML includes churches from the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod in Marshall, Slayton, Fulda, Pipestone, Jasper, Trosky, Holland, Hardwick, and Luverne.
Tilton to speak Oct. 21 at First Baptist
Skip Tilton of Creation Ministries International will speak at an event sponsored by the Marshall Area Christian Home Educators Association.
The event will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 21, at First Baptist Church, located off Highway 23 at 2219 250th St. near Marshall. As an evangelist with CMIUS, Tilton ministers to Christians, providing the understanding needed to strengthen their faith and equipping them with a stronger Biblical worldview.

CDA mass, meeting Monday at Holy Redeemer School
Catholic Daughters Court St. Joan of Arc 1291 will have a 5:30 p.m. mass Monday followed by lunch. A 7 p.m. meeting will take place with election of a vice regent and a recording secretary. A presentation will be given on Circle of Love. Mass will be at St. Mary's Chapel. Lunch and meeting will be in the school cafeteria.
